Barbra And Frank
Barbra and FrankThere are many singers around the world that audiences would have clamoured to witness performing as duos and amongst them is The Concert That Never Was – Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra. The pair both managed to enjoy successful careers, with Streisand releasing an abundance of hits from her debut to the modern day and Sinatra performing until the later years of his life, but not once did they share the stage and wow people with their impressive skills together.
With Frank Sinatra sadly passing in 1998 there is no longer any chance of this happening, but a show coming soon to the New Players Theatre in London will go some way in demonstrating to audiences what they were missing out on. Featuring skilled and breathtaking tribute artists in the forms of Sharon Owens and Sebastian Anzaldo, it takes the form of “Barbra and Frank – The Concert That Never Was” and it is likely to be the closest audiences can get to witnessing two icons take to the stage.
Both of these musicians have proven themselves as successful impersonators all over the world, having appeared in solo shows and together in this renowned duet on stages in Las Vegas and across locations in the US. Together they have managed, not only to deliver an impressive sound that perfectly emulates the internationally renowned superstars, but also to showcase a spectacle that is amplified by their uncanny resemblance to the stars they emulate. So expect great things from “Barbra and Frank – The Concert That Never Was” when it emerges at the New Players Theatre in The Arches, London, this November.
Streisand’s career seems to go from strength to strength with each new decade and she has enjoyed a journey in the limelight that has seen her release multi-platinum selling albums and numerous awards and nominations, on top of movie and television appearances. Few singers can boast to such achievements, but Streisand has managed to carve out a journey at the top that few could hope to match.
That is apart from Frank Sinatra, whose career had just as many high points. He gained a head start in Streisand, having been born in 1915, but his career of chart hits, spectacular stage shows, awards and movie appearances makes him amongst the most famous figures of the 20th century.
So make sure you witness Barbra and Frank – The Concert That Never Was when it runs at the New Players Theatre from Wednesday 24th November 2010 to Saturday 18th December 2010.
