SYNOPSIS

Christmas Spectacular

Each year there are a number of things to see and do come Christmas time, from pantomimes to West End Christmas treats. But none of these will come close to the spectacle being offered by the O2, where some big names are set to offer a dazzling and awe-inspiring Christmas extravaganza. This is the Classic FM Christmas Spectacular, hosted by Myleene Klass, which will allow audiences to hear the very best in seasonal music whilst also enjoying some memorable visual displays that eventually culminate in an unforgettable finale. It is certain to be the best live entertainment on offer this Christmas.

Whilst Myleene Klass presents the proceedings, there will be plenty of big name talents treating us to some wonderful performances. Amongst them is the popular and renowned conductor Anthony Inglis, whose skills will be put to the test as he leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra through some compelling numbers. A host of sopranos and tenors will also be on hand, including Stephanie Corley, Alison Jiear and Jon Christos, whilst Raymond Gubbay makes his O2 debut with his new production. So if you thought Christmas was simply about pantomimes and seasonal stories – think again. With the Christmas Spectacular, you will be presented with an evening that will be hard to top – with visual effects ensuring some sights for the eyes and an indoor firework finale that will ensure it is a Christmas to remember.

Anthony Inglis has earned his place at the top of his game as one of the most renowned and sought-after conductors in the business. With the Christmas Spectacular he will be working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, but in the past he has also worked with some other renowned orchestras, including the BBC orchestra, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and also the London Symphony Orchestra, with the latter released as a Grammy-nominated recording. From royal concerts to Japanese anime recording, he has embarked on a career that has been as varied as it has been prolific and will bring all of his skills to his performance at the O2 Arena.

So for an evening of Christmas carols, traditional and unbeatable classics, plus some Christmas number one favourites along the way, make sure you witness the Christmas Spectacular when it appears at the O2 on Thursday 23rd December 2010.
