Strictly Come Dancing Live 2009 – Wembley Arena

This immensely popular show has taken the UK by storm and is now promising to be bigger and better in 2009!

This show includes such celebrities as Julian Clary, Gethin Jones, Jill Halfpenny and Kenny Logan.  Plus Jodie Kidd and Rachel Stevens will also be pirouetting and twirling their way around the country along with Tom Chambers (one half of the winning couple from the final of the 2008 show) and Cherie Lunghi.

These shows allow audiences to watch their favourite celebrities as they glide across the floor, plus they will also get see some of the best dance champions and not forgetting that all important panel of judges.  These devils or should we say judges in the form of Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman, Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli will be giving their opinions as regards the dancing abilities of the contestants.  Plus these celebrities will be competing for those all important votes from audiences around the UK.   

The show will assume the following format: two 45 minute sections with a 20 minute interval (in-between).  In the first part of the show, the celebrities dance followed by the audience texting to choose the winning couple.  The second half is group dancing and then the dance professionals take to the floor!  The winner is announced at the end of the show. 

This show opens on the 3rd February 2009 at the Wembley Arena and runs until the 4th February.

The Wembley Arena has a distinguished pedigree, being home to many historical events such as the 1948 Olympic Games.  It has also seen large scale rock concerts by the likes of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

The venue has recently been refurbished and re-opened in 2006.  This facelift has included a 180 degree orientation of the entire stadium so that it faces the National Stadium with the aim of forging a string link between the two venues.  A new public square called ‘Arena Square’ has been developed, seating capacity has been increased and the delivery of top class acoustics for top class performers.

Many of the most famous performers in the world have played at the Wembley Arena.  These include Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross, Cher, George Michael, Barbra Streisand, Queen the list just goes on and on.

By Car - Wembley is located just off the A406 North Circular Road. Roads around the venue can get congested so please leave plenty of time to get to your event. There are two on-site car parks Underground - Nearest Underground is Wembley Park (Zone 4), Metropolitan & Jubilee Line PLEASE NOTE: Due to ongoing track replacement works at all three Wembley stations there may be disruption to tube and rail services.
